My name is Rachel Jarvis and I run an independent upholstery, design and soft furnishings business. Having always enjoyed making unique accessories and home furnishings, friends began to ask me to assist them with their interior design projects. Inspired by these opportunities, I went on to attain a Diploma with the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers (AMUSF) in order to develop the skills and techniques of both traditional and modern style upholstery. I have been very lucky, constantly busy through word of mouth and personal recommendations since I started my company in December 2015. I love my work, and always strive to produce a high quality finish for my customers, treating each piece with utmost care and attention as if it were for my own home.
Whether you wish to have a favourite sofa recovered, reupholstered or repaired, I am able to provide a professional service aimed at meeting all your requirements. I will visit and talk through the project with you, and help in the selection of fabric. I will keep you informed of the progress of your piece and aim to have all re-upholstery work completed within a maximum lead-time of six to eight weeks.
Should you wish to have a bespoke sofa or chair built to your own design, I will liaise with a skilled local frame-maker who will create a handmade solid hardwood frame. I can guide you through the process from initial drawings and design to the final finishing details, all materials of course covered by UK flammability legislation.
